Reinstate Wonder.

The Almanac School, also known as Alma, is a nature-rich learning community for charter-homeschool families, serving grades 1–9 with flexible programmatic structure 5 days per week on a small working farm in Newport Beach.

You shouldn’t have to choose between a real education and a real childhood. Here, your child is known from the first day, and wonder is part of the curriculum.

School shouldn’t dim a child’s curiosity.

Too many bright children spend their days on screens, drilling for tests, moving in lockstep through material that was never written for them. Little by little, the questions stop. You’ve seen it: the child who once asked “why” about everything now only asks if they’re done.

We’re parents and educators who built the school we wanted for our own children. Our Guides are trained in Montessori, Waldorf, Formation, and Nature-based teaching, our three-year curriculum maps to California standards, and our program produces the work samples your charter needs. Your child is known from the first day.

A simple path:

  1. Visit Alma.

  2. Choose your rhythm.

  3. Watch your child flourish.
